The Cold War was a war between the United States and the Soviet Unions with their allies and had began after WWll and had the first atomic bombs in 1945 that would transition the countries into a new world that contains bombs and weaponry. When the Cold War had ended, only the United States remained to be powerful as other countries were destroyed due to the war.

Example: Fidel Castro/Nikita Khrushchev/ John F. Kennedy/ Cuban Missile Crisis:
Explanation: Fidel Castro, the leader of Cuba allowed Nikita Khrushchev, Premier of the Soviet Union to install missiles in Cuba ninety miles off the coast of the United States. John Kennedy, President of the United States set up a naval blockade of Cuba to prevent the Soviet Union from delivering any more weapons to Cuba. This was known as the Cuban Missile Crisis which was an event that almost caused head to head fighting between the Soviet Union and the United States that could have triggered WWIII.
You are to link all the terms in groups of two or more and provide an explanation for why you linked each group of terms
The work is to be completed directly in your wiki.
The Soviet Union had owned East Berlin during the Cold War. Stalin was trying to spread communism in East Berlin and did not want East Berlin to lean towards capitalism, so he created what Churchill had called the “iron curtain.” East Berlin and West Berlin were separated and none was able to visit their family. People of the East Berlin tries to escape but instead recaptured, therefore the Soviet Union had made the Berlin wall bigger and stronger and added in more barbed wire.
I linked each of these people because this explains basically the beginning or the major part of the Cold War and what would happen after to the response of Stalin.
The Soviet Union and the United States were the only two nations still standing strong after World War ll, and because of their power, they had then became enemies after long time allies. They begun to go against each other and try to spread their ideology to other countries. They had an arms race and a space race to improve their technology and be better than the other. Britain had sided with the United States, therefore Stalin had felt threatened.
I linked these terms to describe the Soviet Union and the United States competition against each other.
Speeches of Leaders at the Start of the Cold War We will be analyzing excerpt of speeches of Stalin, Churchill and Truman at the beginning of the Cold War Directions:
Excerpts of speeches are to be copied into either your personal Crocodoc account to be marked up or you may Google docs an d the comment button for analysis
In place of the "so what" paragraph you will be completing an APPARTS chart for each of the three speeches. You have received paper copies of the protocol and the form you will use. I have added a digital copy of both below as well.
All copies of mark ups and completed APPARTS charts must be uploaded yo your Cold War wiki page.
What knowledge about the Cold War did you learn from these three speeches?
What I had learned about the Cold War from Stalin, Churchill, and Truman's speech is that because of their disagreement and how they each had blamed whether it was about communism or capitalism that had became a reason that started World War ll had ignited a fuel between the big three thus starting the Cold War. Stalin had implied that World War ll was because of capitalism and in response to his speech, Churchill had sided with Truman and delivered the 'Iron Curtain," speech to let people be away of communism and directing it also towards Stalin and his people. Although Churchill and Stalin was directly talking to each other, Truman's speech was showing humane choices to help other nations in need of financial support. Though, Truman is trying to help them, he is also trying to hurry the process, so that the Soviet Union wouldn't try to take control of Greece and thus would spread communism. Due to all their differences, there had been tensions and sides already being picked among the countries that had then started the Cold War because of the issue about Capitalism and Communism.
Content Questions: How did the Korean War turn into a Cold War Conflict? Korea was split into two sections; the North was communist and the South was capitalist. Why did the Korean War not lead to world war? It was a tiny war between the North and South Korea with the support of other nations. How does the Korean War shed light on the broad themes of the Cold War?
It brings up the tensions and differences between communism and capitalism and the form of government.
Background to the Korean Conflict:
Koreans often use the proverb “when whales fight, the shrimp’s back is broken” to describe their country’s victimization at the hands of larger, more powerful neighbors.
The surrender of Japan to the allies at the end of World War II resulted in a new and unexpected development on the Korean peninsula: the division of Korea into two separate states, one in the North (the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, D.P.R.K.) and one in the South (the Republic of Korea, R.O.K.). In the final days of the war, the United States and the Soviet Union had agreed to jointly accept the Japanese surrender in Korea, with the U.S.S.R. occupying Korea north of the 38th parallel and the U.S. occupying south until an independent and unified Korean government could be established. However, by 1947, the emerging Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, combined with political differences between Koreans of the two occupation zones and the policies of the occupation forces on the ground, led to a breakdown in negotiations over a unified government of Korea.
Do you Believe the Korean War was a Civil War or a Proxy War ( war that results when opposing powers use third parties as substitutes for fighting each other directly.)?
I believe it is a proxy war because communist and capitalist parties became involved.
Provide three pieces of evidence from the video to support your claim
1)Communist parties had supported the North Korea
2)Capitalist parties supported South Korea
3)China became involved but was a communist country which was then supported and helped by the Soviets and other allies.
Pair/share responses and make revisions in red
Sides were being delegated by the parties and which is why it is a proxy war and it has multiple of other people involved with the war. It was also a war in the cold war, thus making it a proxy war because its based on communism and capitalism.
List and Rank the three most important points gained from the poll on your wiki. Explain your top choice.
Risk In taking strong steps - There is always a risk and different outcomes on the choices of what the president or the government makes and they need to remember the risks of doing the things that they do.
Expectations on Truce - There should at least be a guideline or that the countries or states should follow so they do not break that truce
Confidence in President - No one ever has confidence in the president but such as risk in taking strong steps, the president has to decide his steps and people need to confide in his and even if he does choose the wrong thing or different thing, there might be a different outcome and coming back with number 1, its also the persons risk when choosing a president.

Cuban Missile Crisis In paragraph form explain the reasons for your selection. Provide evidence from both sources to support your selection.
I choose option 3: Oder a blockade of Cuba until missiles are removed. I choose this because at that point when the United States is already ready, if one bad move is taken, then a whole war could outbreak. Khrushchev did not want to use it against the United States but to see how loyal and strong the United States could be. Even though they are fighting against each other and the only ones remaining, a whole new entire war could start, killing more people and destroying more land. The blockade would push them into a tight spot and they wouldn't be able to do much, even a tiny mistake can turn into a disaster. At that point, it was as if Cuba was being put on the spot until the missiles are being put down.
